About Us

Following in my grandfather’s footsteps, I started Generations Hardwood Flooring, LLC, in 2012, to continue the family’s tradition of hardwood flooring. From start to finish, we consider what we do a craft, not a job. We will schedule a time to meet, take measurements, look at the current conditions, and discuss a plan of action. Educating the customer is the first step that we take. This allows the customer to make an informed decision about their flooring choices. From the initial contact through the finished project, we take pride in our attention to detail and meeting our customer’s deadlines.
We also partner with designers, architects, and builders; assisting them to make their clients ideas become a reality.

We offer Richmond and surrounding areas with the following services:

• Installation of unfinished and pre-finished flooring, including patching

• Sanding & Refinishing

• Bona DCS Trailer (Dust Contained Sanding)

• Onsite Custom Stain Consultation

Our History

As a young child, Erik got his start in the flooring business by riding the buffer machine that his father was using (a tradition in flooring families). Growing up, Erik cherished the summer breaks with his father; learning the craft that was passed down from his grandfather. During these summer trainings, Erik went on thousands of estimate appointments; seeing problems and solutions. At 18, he became a foreman with a crew of his own. On several occasions, homeowners were surprised to see someone so young as a foreman. After talking with him, they quickly realized they were speaking with a seasoned flooring craftsman.

Generations Hardwood Flooring, LLC, is locally owned and operated and located in Goochland County, serving metro Richmond and surrounding areas. The tradition and innovation continue today; as we like to say: “it takes generations to become a legend”. We pride ourselves on our commitment to continuous learning, attention to detail, commitment to quality, workmanship, integrity, and service.
